Nautical Structures Opens Fort Lauderdale Service Center

Lauderdale Marine Center will be home to the new full-service installation and maintenance center;
Company expands “life-of-product” service and maintenance initiative.

LARGO, FLORIDA—Nautical Structures has opened a service center at the Lauderdale Marine Center (LMC) in Fort Lauderdale as a tenant partner.  The operation will be managed by Jim Olejar, Director of Service, according to Nautical Structures’ President, Colin Kiley. “Our new service center is the next logical step in our continued growth and expansion,” says Kiley. “When fully staffed, we anticipate 12 trained service professionals will work out of the new facility; we’re now actively hiring for key positions.”

Lauderdale Marine Center is the largest yacht repair facility in the United States and a one-stop service and refit destination for vessels ranging from 40' to 200' LOA. “It’s an ideal location for our Florida East Coast service center,” Kiley explains. “Many Nautical Structures customers are already taking advantage of the broad range of repair, retrofit and maintenance services available at LMC.”

The expansion now affords Nautical Structures’ clients exceptional service by qualified technical support staff out of the Largo and Ft. Lauderdale facilities; each providing full product sales, engineering support, and service. Service includes product installation, annual inspections for classed products, global product support and warranty work.

Kiley Envisions Expanded Maintenance and Service Initiative

“The industry-buzz for new construction, refits and retail is a turnkey maintenance solution for the full service life of the equipment—planned maintenance schedules and execution that just happens.” Kiley explains. “The idea is to start out with a reliable piece of equipment that is properly engineered, installed and commissioned on day one, followed by the implementation of a life-of-product maintenance regimen. The result is less downtime and the elimination of surprise maintenance issues. Simply put, our program takes the pain out of yachting for owners and crew.”

“I recently met with many of the big U.S. OEMs,” Kiley recounts.  “At Hatteras, the head engineer said ‘I’ve got one question for you: ‘How are you going to take care of my customers?’  His primary concern was his customers’ experience with our products over time. How will they be taken care of, from installation through the end of the equipment’s service life?”  Kiley reports identical concerns from Westport, Delta, Viking, Tiara, Feadship and Oceanco.
